Data Centers 101
Data centers are rapidly becoming a major topic of conversation in communities across the country, but many local leaders are still seeking answers to a few basic questions: What are data centers, and what role do city officials play? The Kentucky League of Cities has joined with the Kentucky Association of Counties and the Kentucky Association for Economic Development to offer an introductory webinar on data centers. The June 10, 2026, event will be held online from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. EDT and will be offered free of charge. The session will walk attendees through the practical role of county and city leaders in data center siting, including key considerations around zoning, land use, infrastructure capacity, and community impact.
