City of Danville, Kentucky Electrician THE CITY OF DANVILLE: The City of Danville is located 35 miles southwest of Lexington and is a thriving community with a population of 17,000. The City has a highly efficient infrastructure, water treatment and wastewater facilities, police and fire services, quality school system, and a highly educated workforce. Danville is the home of Centre College, which is among the most prestigious small liberal arts colleges in America. The City of Danville is also the business hub to a 5 county, 100,000 + region.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Utility Director, the electrician provides installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems within industrial type facilities owned by the City’s Municipal Utility along with other general services within City buildings and properties. Types of equipment and parts are related to control panels, PLCs, motor controls, and motors. The position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as safety codes and regulations. The individual must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient. The work can be physically demanding. In order to install and repair equipment, they may need to crawl, climb, and stand for extended periods of time. They must be able to operate tools in close proximity to electrical components. Electrician must be able understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as engineering drawings and schematics, diagrams, or instructions. They must be motivated to work on their own or as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of the position.

Salary Information: COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $33,594 - $53,751.
