Planning and Development Services seeks a qualified individual to fill an opening in the Building Codes Administration Department. This position will perform plan reviews and inspect new and existing buildings and structures to ensure conformance to building laws and approved plans, specifications, and standards. Required Qualifications include: Graduate of a College, University or Community College with a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in construction/building management, engineering, architecture, or fire science. High School graduates will be considered with a minimum of 5-7 years in a responsible, directly related construction position such as a foreman, which required the ability to effectively read and interpret building plans and specifications. Level III Building Inspector certification from the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction is strongly desired or have the ability to obtain such certification within 6 months of date of hire. The successful candidate must pass a post-offer drug screen.

Salary Information: $28 - $36/hr DOQ
