Legislative Preview

Wednesday, December 9
10:00 a.m. ‒ 12:00 p.m. EST

KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney and Director of Public Affairs Bryanna L. Carroll will provide city officials information on the 2021 Legislative Agenda. The KLC Board of Directors sets the agenda each year, and members vote on the most important issues for their community. This year increasing road funding, diversifying revenue options and modernizing several outdated statutes tops the list. The agenda is a road map to rebuilding Kentucky’s economy by investing in cities.

Legislators will convene for the 2021 Regular Session of the General Assembly on January 5. This is a short, 30-day session. However, legislators will be required to pass a one-year spending plan for FY 2022. They did not adopt a two-year budget in the 2020 session because of the pandemic.
