Liability Grants going to 77 Cities and Municipal Agencies

KLC Insurance Services Loss Control staff are busy delivering liability grants to insurance pool members.

The awarded funds will go toward personnel services provided by the KLC Legal Team, mulching mowers or kits, vehicle back-up cameras, defensive driver training, police accreditation fees, gun safes, crumb rubber, engineered wood fiber or pea gravel for playground cushioning material, new playground equipment to replace old equipment, sidewalk replacement and sewer backup prevention.

Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Services has awarded in excess of $4.6 million since the Safety Grant Program started in 1999.

“Our philosophy is to prevent injuries and claims from happening,” said Jon Steiner executive director/CEO. “We want to partner with our members, and this safety grant promotes good risk management. There is no better way to invest our member’s money.”

KLC Insurance Services also provides workers' compensation grants to its members annually. The application cycle for those grants will open in 2020. As Kentucky’s largest municipal insurance program, the KLC insurance pool provides a full range of affordable liability, property, workers’ compensation and other products to municipalities. In addition, the Kentucky League of Cities offers employee benefits programs through the insurance division.  With questions about the grant program, contact Sh-Naya Taylor at 800.876.4552.
