Litter Abatement Grant Fund Request Forms Due Nov 2

Now is the time to apply for 2021 Litter Abatement Grant funding from the Kentucky Division of Waste Management.

Cities can use litter abatement grant funding for direct expenses, as defined in 401 KAR 49:080 Section 3, incurred during calendar year 2022, associated with anti-litter control programs; for litter cleanup on public roads as provided in KRS 224.43-505; and to meet the requirements established in KRS 224.43-345.

The Division of Waste Management must receive the signed “City Request and Agreement for Litter Abatement Program Grant Funding” by 4:30 p.m. Eastern time on November 2, 2021, pursuant to KRS 224.43-505. The Division will not accept litter abatement grant agreements received after that date. The amount of grant funding each city is eligible to receive will not be determined until after November 2, 2021. Once all applications are received, the Division will calculate the amount of funding available in accordance with statutory requirements.
