The City of Shelbyville’s Public Works Department is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Technician II.

General Duties: This position is supervised by the Superintendent of Public Works, and will be responsible for a variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance duties including, but not limited to:

• constructing, cleaning, and/or maintaining buildings, roadways, storm sewers, road signs, etc.;
• removing snow and ice; operating, cleaning, and performing minor repairs on motorized equipment/vehicles;
• cutting or trimming trees, limbs, weeds, brush, and grass;
• and collecting trash.

Flexibility to work during emergency weather conditions and other special events is a must. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, supplemented by one (1) year of related work experience. Must possess the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six months to one (1) year from the date of hire.

Salary Information: Annual range of $24,253 – $37,440, based on education and experience. Excellent benefit package.
