Last Chance! Sign Up for the 2023 KLC Mayor-to-Mayor Program

Jan. 31 Deadline!

The Kentucky League of Cities Mayor-to-Mayor Program is a peer-to-peer program provided by KLC that matches newly elected mayors with experienced mayors. Newly elected mayors taking office in January 2023 and experienced mayors from KLC member cities may participate. The program is completely voluntary, and there is no cost.

Benefits of the program

  • Provides a “go-to” person for newly elected mayors;
  • Provides networking opportunities;
  • Is an ideas exchange; and
  • Expands awareness of issues facing other communities.

New mayors will gain insight and troubleshooting tips from experienced mayors, and experienced mayors will gain a new perspective from new mayors.

How are matches made?

KLC matches mayors based on city size, the form of government, proximity to each other, and more. Once KLC has paired an experienced mayor with a newly elected mayor, we will notify both with contact information. They are responsible for making contacts, planning visits, and developing relationships. KLC is responsible for pairing. Participants will arrange all other activities. KLC recommends at least one visit to each participant’s city.

KLC also provides a monthly Mayors’ Forum via zoom for all KLC member mayors. Watch for emails about these events.
