The Kentucky League of Cities invites you to the 2023 KLC Insurance Services Risk & Safety Conference. This event is the only risk and safety conference in the commonwealth geared toward municipal employees. The three-day event will provide valuable networking opportunities and training in electrical safe work practices, excavation and lockout/tagout practices, cybersecurity, and more.
This year’s conference will be held March 8-10 at the Marriott Cincinnati Airport in Hebron, Kentucky. In addition to the many informative sessions, attendees can attend sessions approved to provide 7-plus hours of continuing education for drinking water and wastewater licensing. You must attend the preconference training to receive the maximum credit hours.
The KLC Insurance Services Risk and Safety Conference is an invaluable way for city officials and those who deal with environmental, safety, and health issues to learn tactics, trends, and regulations that can improve efficiency, potentially save lives, and reduce liability claims.
This year’s conference gets underway Wednesday afternoon with special presenter Kimberly Schlau. She will share the tragic story of her two daughters who died when an Illinois State Trooper lost control of his vehicle while speeding, then crossed the median and struck the girls’ car, killing them instantly. Schlau has dedicated herself to sharing the story of her daughters’ deaths to prevent similar tragedies from happening to other families. Her presentation will include information about the events of the day her daughters were killed, the investigation, and the emotional toll on her family.
Registration costs are eligible for reimbursement through the KLC Safety Grant for KLC workers’ compensation insurance members.
