Gearing up for the Kentucky League of Cities Summer Summit scheduled for June 4 - 6, we are proud to bring a new event to the table. In the first of its kind at KLC, the highlight of the Economic Development Day (June 6) will be an economic development simulator specifically geared toward the roles of city officials. This simulator will give participants an in-depth experience of the economic development process and the steps to secure prospective business projects.
Participants will be divided into groups of competing businesses and cities, each with an opportunity to seal the deal or go home empty-handed. Experienced members of the Cabinet for Economic Development, BE-NKY Growth Partnership, the Kentucky Association of Economic Developers, and Commerce Lexington will guide the groups. The simulation will culminate in a decision by the business groups on the city they feel best suits their needs. The scenarios each group will receive are based around real businesses and cities throughout the commonwealth, making this an ideal experience for learning the ins and outs of the economic development process.
Due to the highly involved nature of the simulation and limited space, registration for this event will be limited to the first 150 people attending the Economic Development Day of Summer Summit. The Kentucky League of Cities is proud to partner with some of the top economic development professionals in the commonwealth to provide this one-of-a-kind experience.
We look forward to seeing our members participating on June 6!
