Kentucky cities can apply for a share of $1.1 billion in Broadband Equity, Access, and Development (BEAD) Program funds allocated to the commonwealth to help citizens and businesses stay connected via high-speed internet.
Registration is currently open via the Broadband Grants Management Portal. The Office of Broadband Development is overseeing the three-phase process. The pre-qualification phase of the program opens Aug. 14 and closes at 6 p.m. EST on Sept. 13. Application submissions are expected to be accepted starting in November.
Applicants are encouraged to enter their information in advance of the portal closing to allow time for questions, clarifications, or technical issues. Users must complete the pre-qualification process to apply for BEAD funds.
