Sewer and Stormwater Grants Available

The Energy and Environment Cabinet has opened a call for letters of intent for the Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grant Program (OSG). OSG seeks to fund projects that help rural and disadvantaged communities address stormwater issues using green infrastructure and nature-based solutions.

The program will grant eligible communities funding for green infrastructure planning, design, and construction projects. While all municipal entities may apply, communities with a population of less than 10,000 will qualify as rural and receive priority in project ranking. Communities with a median household income (MHI) less than 80% of the state MHI will qualify as disadvantaged. Communities that do not meet these definitions must provide 20% matching funds.

Letters of intent to apply are optional but highly recommended and due May 9, 2025. Project application forms must be submitted no later than July 3, 2025. The Division of Water staff will review and rank applications according to eligibility and priority criteria.
