Kentucky cities and law enforcement departments can apply for grants totaling more than $880,000 in federal funding to help reduce crime and violence.
Funding from the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program is available to local governments to further efforts to prevent and reduce crime and violence, with a focus on gun violence and programs that address root causes.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. EST on Feb. 27, 2026, via the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet’s Intelligrants 10.0 system. Recipients are expected to be announced in September, with awards beginning Oct. 1. For assistance, contact the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet helpdesk.
