PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR

The Nicholasville-Jessamine County Parks and Recreation will accept applications to fill the position of Parks and Recreation Director. The starting annual salary for this position falls within the $70,000 to $95,000 range. The hiring rate will be determined during the final step of the hiring process.

Nicholasville Jessamine County Parks and Recreation is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as the Director of Parks and Recreation. As a department focused on promoting the well-being of our community, our Parks and Recreation Department plays a crucial role in providing accessible and sustainable recreational opportunities for all residents. This is a full-time exempt position with a comprehensive benefit plan that includes health, vision and dental coverage on date of hire, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, life insurance, state retirement, and a company vehicle.

The Director of Parks and Recreation will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and maintenance of our parks, facilities, programs and staff. This is a leadership role that requires strong management skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for our community members. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a condition of continued employment in the position. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing and/or parks and recreation, public administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred -or- at least 4 years of experience in a leadership role in parks and recreation management or a related field. Additional work experience may be substituted for education requirements on a year per year basis, up to a maximum of 4 years. Equal Opportunity Employer.
