The City of Somerset is now accepting applications and resumes for the position of EMS chief. The EMS chief is responsible for the strategic leadership, clinical oversight, operational management, and fiscal stewardship of the EMS agency serving a population of approximately 65,000 residents. This position ensures high-quality pre-hospital emergency care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with community health and safety objectives. This position reports to the mayor of the City of Somerset. (Detailed description available upon request.)

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Degree in EMS administration, public health, healthcare management, public administration, or related field preferred. Current state paramedic license (NREMT Preferred). Valid Drivers License. CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications. ICS 100, 200, 700, 800; (ICS 300/400 within 1 year of hire). Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, including supervisory or director level responsibilities. Demonstrated experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and interagency coordination. Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the ability to perform emergency medical care in potential life threating situations.
