Grants of $1,000 are offered to individuals, groups, and organizations to develop small, community-based projects in a wide range of areas, including arts, community development, and technology. Funding is intended to create positive change in the community.
Each fully autonomous chapter provides its own grants, usually given out monthly. These micro-grants, $1,000 or the local equivalent, come out of the pockets of the chapter's "trustees" and are given on a no-strings-attached basis to people and groups working on awesome projects.
