Nominations Open for 2023 Fire Chief of the Year

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Fire Chief of the Year Award. KLC is proud to sponsor the award, which recognizes a career chief who exemplifies leadership, innovation, integrity, and service to the public. The Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs will present this year’s winner at the Kentucky Fire Commission Meeting in October.

To be eligible, a chief must serve as the active chief of the department when the Association presents the award. The status of the department itself is not considered. However, particular emphasis will be placed on the chief’s work from June 2022 to June 2023.

To nominate a chief, please provide a cover letter on your organization’s letterhead, describing in less than 1,200 words why you are nominating the chief. You will also need to submit a nomination form. The Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs executive director and Executive Board of Directors will review all nominations and announce this year’s winner at the 2023 Leadership Conference in Bowling Green on Aug. 23.

Nominations must be submitted by Aug. 1, 2023.
