The Access Fund offers grants to U.S. organizations, government agencies, land trusts, and individuals for projects that promote rock climbing. Applicants requesting large amounts or land acquisition support must contact staff prior to applying. Funding is intended to support projects to increase accessibility and opportunities for climbing and to conserve the climbing environment throughout the country. Funds may be used for purposes such as climbing area facilities, educational outreach, research, and advocacy.
Since their inception in 1991, Access Fund has funded over $1.5 million to local organizations, climbers, and public agencies. Projects that demonstrate local climber support, collaboration with land managers, and a commitment to long-term change will be funded. Applicants' efforts should be quantifiable, with specific objectives, a detailed budget, and measures for evaluating success.
Access Fund is the national advocacy organization that leads and inspires the climbing community toward sustainable access and conservation of the climbing environment. Our vision is for climbers of today and tomorrow to have the opportunity to share in the joys of climbing and get inspired to protect and care for the places we climb.
