House Local Government Committee Gets A Whole New Look

January 8, 2025

When legislators begin session on Tuesday, Jan. 6, there will be a new chair, vice chair, membership, and meeting day for the House Local Government Committee.

The committee, which vets nearly all local government legislation, will now meet on Tuesdays, not Wednesdays, when the committee was previously held.

There will be several freshman legislators and a large contingency from the Louisville metro area on the committee, including:

Representative Jared Bauman Representative Josh Bray Representative George Brown Jr. Representative Beverly Chester-Burton Representative Steven Doan Representative Ken Fleming Representative Chris Freeland Representative Peyton Griffee Representative Tony Hampton Representative Mark Hart Representative Mary Beth Imes Representative Chris Lewis Representative Savannah Maddox Representative Michael Meredith Representative Rebecca Raymer Representative Rachel Roarx Representative Sarah Stalker Representative Susan Witten

The new chair will be Representative Patrick Flannery, R-Olive Hill, and the Local Government Committee Vice-Chair is Representative Amy Neighbors, R-Edmonton.

KLC looks forward to working with these lawmakers to craft the best possible legislation for Kentucky cities.
