KLCIS Special Events Planning Guide

Many Kentucky cities are once again scheduling public events and community celebrations, from fall festivals to holiday parades, after the COVID pandemic forced cancellations throughout much of 2020 and 2021. Special events are an important part of a community’s fabric, but they take careful planning. The Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Services (KLCIS) Special Events Planning Guide helps cities prepare and execute a safe and enjoyable experience.

The updated 2021 Guide provides various checklists, waiver templates, and other valuable tools to help organizers and city officials identify and manage risks and reduce costs. KLCIS provides the guide to KLCIS members, and our representatives are always happy to answer any questions that you may have about insurance coverage and special events.

Contact KLC Deputy Executive Director Doug Goforth, Director of Loss Control Greg Partin, or Director of Agency Operations Jeremy Baird regarding your KLCIS questions or needs.

KLCIS members can find the KLC Special Events Planning Guide in Loss Control Resources, listed under Member Resources in your klcis.org dashboard.
