The Kentucky League of Cities is accepting orders for the 2023 City Officials Legal Handbook. The must-have book for city officials covers legal issues that matter most to city officials in an easy-to-read narrative format.
The 2023 edition not only updates core topics, but also provides information on the legal issues that matter most to city officials. It is designed for non-attorneys and covers the basics of annexation, incompatible offices, personnel matters, ethics, ordinances, open meeting and open records, public purpose spending, budgeting, auditing, planning and zoning, and more.
While this publication is not intended to be a substitute for the advice of an experienced city attorney, it will help you understand the background of a legal problem.
The cost of the handbook is $50 for KLC members and $150 for nonmembers.
