Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Services is now accepting 2023 Workers’ Compensation Safety Grant applications. The 50/50 matching grants provide KLC Insurance Services member cities and agencies with funds for programs, services, and equipment to keep communities and people safe and reduce injury claims.
KLC Insurance Services will accept applications beginning March 6, 2023, until April 14, 2023. Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients can use the money on various items, including personal protective equipment (PPE), KLC Insurance Services Risk and Safety Conference attendance, safety training, and safety equipment.
Insured members may submit one application. Eligibility levels depend on total workers’ compensation premium amounts. Applications must be submitted online. Applicants will immediately receive a confirmation email with a successful submission. KLC will send a second notification when your application is approved. KLC Insurance Services will disperse funds at the close of the application period.
Log into your klc.org account here to apply. Once logged in, scroll down until you see “Member Resources” at the bottom right on your computer screen or at the bottom of your screen on your mobile device. Then, click on “2023 Workers’ Compensation Safety Grant” at the bottom of the member resources list.
Invoices, purchase orders, and receipts must be uploaded at the time of application and dated July 1, 2022, to April 15, 2023. Due to the popularity of the grant, KLC advises members to apply early.
Grants are made available through KLC Insurance Services – a self-insured, member-owned program governed by a board of trustees comprised of representatives from the participating members. Cities, their agencies, boards, commissions, units of local government, and other non-profit public purpose organizations are eligible to participate in KLC’s insurance programs. KLC Insurance Services offers general liability, public officials’ liability, law enforcement liability, and automobile coverages on an occurrence basis, with no annual aggregate limit. Cyber liability and sewer backup liability are also available.
