City officials have approached the KLC Municipal Law Department to express an interest in updating, harmonizing, and modernizing approaches taken to city officials and employee conduct within their city’s ethics ordinance. Specifically, the focus will be on addressing official conduct in meetings, online, by text, and other areas of daily life.
We are now putting a call out to city officials and city attorneys who may be interested in a KLC working group that would look at the current KLC model ordinance, which serves as the basis for many of our members’ city ethics ordinances. We anticipate an initial Zoom meeting to discuss project parameters, and subsequent meetings may be virtual or in person, should logistics allow.
