The Kentucky League of Cities is extending the application deadline for its $1 million Cybersecurity Preparedness Grant. The deadline was previously set at June 30, 2023, but has been extended until Sept. 30, 2023.
Grants for each member can reach up to $15,000. Cities and other members can use the funds for various preventive measures to secure their vital data. Money can be used to identify possible security weaknesses, institute multi-factor authentication, create a data backup and disaster recovery system, add advanced threat protection software, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
Grant amounts are based on billed liability premiums and will range from $1,000 to $15,000.
