Housing Authority Funds to Remove Lead Paint – Due June 27

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Cooperative agreements offer grants to U.S. local, tribal, and state governments for programs to identify and address housing hazards.

Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to develop the infrastructure necessary to control and reduce lead-based paint hazards in rental and owner-occupied housing.

The purpose of the Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Grant Program is to assist units of local government and other agencies which have not received a HUD lead hazard control grant or been a sub-recipient of such a grant since Jan. 1, 2010, in developing the infrastructure necessary to undertake comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in eligible privately owned rental or owner-occupied housing. The necessity of adequate capacity to ensure the successful implementation of a lead hazard control grant program relies on the following implementation of several key program components that can be found here.
