Medical Cannabis Informational Meeting
In 2023, Senator Stephen West (R-Paris) sponsored Senate Bill 47, which established the framework for a legal medical cannabis program in Kentucky. The Kentucky General Assembly passed the bill, and Governor Andy Beshear signed it on March 31, 2023.
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, medical cannabis will be legal in the commonwealth. Local governments face policy decisions on whether to allow medical cannabis businesses to operate locally and determine where these businesses can be located.
KLC is pleased to announce Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program Executive Director Sam Flynn will join city officials on March 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. EDT to provide KLC members with an overview of the program and discuss local government options under the statute.
