KLC Accepting 2024 Liability Grant Applications
The Kentucky League of Cities is taking applications for 2024 liability grants. KLC Insurance makes funds available to liability members for various expenses that improve safety and reduce liability. Items covered this year include defensive driver training, telematic systems, backup cameras, body cameras, playground equipment, sidewalk replacements, and more. You can see a list of nearly two dozen covered expenses here.
KLC will accept applications until Nov. 8, 2024, from current KLC Insurance members with liability insurance coverage. Please, only one application per member.
Purchase orders, invoices, and receipts must be dated July 1, 2024, to Nov. 8, 2024, and submitted with the grant application. Applications are only accepted online.
To apply, log into your klc.org account here and scroll down until you see “2024 Liability Grant” in “Member Resources” at the bottom of the page.
Members with liability premiums less than $35,000 before taxes are eligible for up to $1,500 grant reimbursements. Members with liability premiums of $35,000 and above before taxes are eligible for up to $3,000 in grant reimbursements. This is a 50/50 matching grant for approved purchases.
Due to the popularity of the grant, KLC advises members to apply early. If applications exceed available funds, KLC will process grants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Liability grants are made available through KLC Insurance – a self-insured, member-owned program. Cities, their agencies, boards, commissions, units of local government, and other nonprofit public purpose organizations are eligible to participate in our insurance programs. KLC Insurance offers general liability, public officials’ liability, law enforcement liability, and automobile coverages on an occurrence basis, with no annual aggregate limit. Cyber liability and sewer backup liability are also available.
