Kentucky city governments and officials can purchase surplus property from the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet’s Division of Surplus Properties (DSP). DSP will host an online auction of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s (KYTC) Division of Equipment property no longer in use. The auction will begin on Monday, Oct. 14, at 8 a.m. EDT and end on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. EDT.
Anyone interested in inspecting auction items can do so on Oct. 14-15 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. without an appointment at the KYTC Division of Equipment, 1239 Wilkinson Blvd., in Frankfort. The auction will include heavy-duty trucks, snowplows, tractors, mowers, assorted parts and equipment, and more items.
Interested bidders can register here. Proceeds from the sale will go to support projects at KYTC and DSP. The 2023 surplus auction generated more than $2.2 million in revenue. A 7% buyer’s premium will be added to all final bids. Payments must be made to DSP by the close of business on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024. No payment extensions will be granted, and all sales are final. The shipping and removal of purchased items is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Property can be picked up from Monday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Nov. 1.
