SLCGP Cybersecurity Grant Applications Open

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) is accepting applications through Nov. 3 at midnight. Applicants can receive a share of more than $270 million through this matching grant program.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which highlights the importance of safeguarding digital platforms through best practices in online safety. Launched in 2004 by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance, this global initiative encourages individuals and organizations to enhance their digital defenses. In today's tech-driven world, almost every aspect of life - from banking to social media - relies on digital tools, making cybersecurity essential. Threats like phishing, ransomware, and identity theft are on the rise, and everyone plays a role in securing data by adopting strong cybersecurity habits.

Peer reviews for the SLCGP will be conducted starting Monday, Nov. 4. Final application approval/voting will take place Nov. 7, and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security and SLCGP chairman will review the budget and funding allocations Nov. 8 – 15. Final award decisions will be made on Nov. 15.
