Objective: The City of Mt. Washington is seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Works Utility Foreman. The Utility Foreman will oversee staff involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution system.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor and direct crew activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, water quality regulations, and other policies.
- Represent the city to citizens in resolving service requests and complaints; coordinate with property owners, contractors, utility company employees, and other city departments to complete service requests or resolve problems.
- Coordinate daily use of equipment and activities with other departments to accomplish work tasks efficiently.
- Enforce safety regulations and manage barricading and traffic control when necessary.
- Order and arrange for the delivery of materials and equipment to job sites.
- Assist the director in reviewing job sites to determine the scope of work.
- Oversee the construction of access roads, city roadways, and water mains.
- Conduct inspections of road paving, including proof rolling, base and final coat approvals, and water main installation inspections.
- General building construction knowledge is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in public works or utility maintenance.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and external parties.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and construction standards.
- General building construction knowledge is advantageous.
Salary Information: Starting - $62,400
