Most Kentucky cities don’t need an app to find parking or avoid traffic jams. However, they can enjoy smart infrastructure upgrades funded with energy savings. LED lighting (building and street) connected with real-time adjustments and feedback, real-time energy monitoring, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), and water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades all make cities “smarter.” We will share insights on how this infrastructure can send and receive data, enabling officials to efficiently operate their utilities and reduce pressure on rates.
