On September 24th, the U.S. Department of Labor released the final rule which will require employers to pay overtime to any employee earning less than $35,568 annually, no matter the employee’s duties. With an effective date of January 1, 2020, employers do not have much time to fall into compliance and must review employee classifications now to determine which employees may be impacted by the change, as well as budget implications.
This 1-hour webinar will provide information on the changes, as well as what employers need to do now to avoid costly violations of the law. In addition, there will be a review of the unchanged federal and Kentucky exempt classification requirements, so cities can be certain that all employees are classified correctly.
