City EDvantage Session: Improving Indoor Air Quality in Kentucky’s Public Buildings

Tuesday, November 17
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. EST

Who should attend: Mayors, housing authority directors, city managers, safety and risk managers, code enforcement officers, building inspectors, city commissioners and council members, facilities directors, finance personnel, building managers, and city directors of specialized services and departments.

Americans spend 90% of their time indoors, but being inside public spaces is now a source of anxiety as the COVID-19 pandemic has brought attention to how seriously airborne pathogens can impact our health. We will discuss best practices, planning strategies and technologies that can improve indoor air quality in public buildings. Beyond the current pandemic, our need to provide safe, clean and healthy public buildings for citizens and public employees will remain a priority for decades to come. The KLH presenters have years of experience in the areas of indoor air quality and HVAC systems planning and design for public buildings, recreational facilities and public utility services offices and can answer questions relating to legislative analysis, capital improvement planning and government budgeting procedures that help fund and implement publicly funded projects.

Presenters:
Kris Schnitgen, P.E., Principal, KLH
Brian M. Bruggeman, Chief Client Officer, KLH
Chris Mehaffie, P.E., Mechanical Engineer, KLH
